What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campaign Manager for Animal Rights Nonprofit position at Lady Freethinker?
Lady Freethinker, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing and stopping animal suffering, seeks a campaign manager to help coordinate existing campaigns and campaign staff as well as strategize and execute new campaigns and investigations to expose and stop animal cruelty.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned team leader and longtime supporter of animal protection who understands the advocacy/nonprofit landscape. Strong communication, research, and organization skills are musts.
This is a full-time position. The LFT team is fully remote; however, California residents are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Help organize, plan, and execute campaigns, reports, and investigations to end animal cruelty in industries such as hunting, factory farming, puppy mills, zoos, social media, and the dog meat trade
- Prepare clear, accurate campaign summaries and reports for internal and external use
- Work with team on preparation and posting of campaign materials on social media, web pages, etc.
- Monitor existing campaigns for updates
- In partnership with the executive team, create short- and long-term campaign strategies and goals
- Liaise with freelancers, nonprofit partners, and other campaign collaborators
Requirements:
- Experience with animal advocacy campaigns
- At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit advocacy or other activism-driven work, preferably in a position of leadership
- A creative, solution-focused mindset
- The ability to either take direction or lead, depending on the situation
- The ability to tolerate seeing images and descriptions of disturbing animal cruelty
- Interest in and knowledge of current animal-protection issues
- The ability to write clearly, concisely, and logically
- The ability to identify and correct factual or grammatical errors
- The capacity to work independently and effectively in an all-remote team
