Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly Jewish worship services at all FCC Beaumont facilities (USP, Medium, Low, and Camp)
- Provide religious instruction, teachings, and guidance based on Jewish law, rituals, holidays, and traditions
- Offer pastoral counseling, spiritual support, and one-on-one assistance to inmates
- Perform SHU rounds as required to meet the needs of Jewish inmates
- Deliver lessons on Jewish history, holidays, prayers, ethics, culture, and scripture as outlined in the SOW
- Report inmate misconduct or safety concerns immediately to the Chaplain or designated staff
- Coordinate schedules, document session logs, and submit required paperwork for payment
- Must be knowledgeable in all essential aspects of Judaism, including: Torah reading, holidays, mitzvot, Jewish law (Halakha), prayers, Hebrew blessings, Jewish ethics, cultural traditions, and major denominations
- Experience providing religious leadership, instruction, or chaplaincy in a community, synagogue, or institutional setting
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with adult offenders in a secure environment
- Must conduct oneself professionally and in attire representative of Jewish religious practice
