Requirements:
The Speech Therapist must have:
- Must possess a Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy from an accredited institution
- Must possess a current State of New Mexico Speech Therapist License and certifications
- Must be able to work with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds
- Evaluate students for special education eligibility
- Identify speech, language, communication, learning, and literacy concerns
- Implement IEP services and provide direct in-person intervention
- Include compensatory service hours in billable time
- Conduct dynamic assessments and classroom observations
- Consult with teachers on instructional strategies and student learning needs
- Support pre-referral and academic/literacy intervention activities
