What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Respiratory Therapist position at Ladgov Corporation?
Location: VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Full-time; 8-hour shifts (day or night). No overtime or federal holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide respiratory therapy services, including airway management and mechanical ventilation
Administer oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, mucolytics, and medical gases
Set up and manage CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP systems
Respond to Rapid Response and emergency situations
Monitor patient respiratory status and recognize need for medical intervention
Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
Comply with VA privacy, safety, infection control, and quality standards
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (1 year critical care required)
Current CPR and ACLS certification
Ability to pass VA credentialing, background checks, and health screening
