Position Overview:

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified Radiation Oncology Physician to provide comprehensive radiation oncology services in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The physician will deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team, and ensure all clinical services are performed in accordance with accepted medical standards, evidence-based practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Radiation Oncology Physician is responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized radiation treatment plans, supervising radiation therapy, monitoring patient progress throughout treatment, and coordinating care with the Radiation Oncology team. The physician will maintain accurate medical documentation, participate in quality improvement activities, and ensure safe delivery of radiation therapy services.'

Job Type: Full-time Contract Position

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday during the VA Radiation Oncology Clinic’s normal operating hours. Additional coverage may be required based on patient care needs and approved scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct radiation oncology consultations and evaluate patients for appropriate treatment
  • Perform and supervise CT simulations, treatment planning, treatment delivery, and post-treatment follow-up
  • Develop individualized radiation therapy plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic imaging, pathology, and accepted standards of care
  • Provide and oversee treatment using Varian linear accelerator systems, including the Edge platform or equivalent equipment
  • Perform Image-Guided Radiation Therapy using Cone Beam CT in accordance with applicable TG-142 standards
  • Use the Eclipse treatment-planning system and ARIA record-and-verify system
  • Provide treatment using 2D and 3D conformal radiation therapy, SRS, SRT, SBRT, IMRT, and VMAT techniques in accordance with applicable TG-53 standards
  • Use the Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT Simulator or equivalent equipment in accordance with applicable TG-66 standards
  • Review treatment plans, imaging, dose calculations, and patient positioning before authorizing treatment
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment, evaluate treatment response, manage side effects, and modify treatment plans when clinically necessary
  • Coordinate patient care with medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the VA electronic medical record, including CPRS when applicable
  • Participate in tumor boards, peer reviews, quality-assurance activities, and other multidisciplinary clinical meetings
  • Follow VA medical staff bylaws, clinical procedures, patient-safety requirements, infection-control standards, and radiation-safety practices
  • Maintain current clinical competency, licensure, board certification, continuing medical education, and required VA training

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution
  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • Current certification in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Board eligibility alone does not satisfy the requirement
  • At least five years of documented post-residency Radiation Oncology experience
  • At least three years of continuous and relevant Radiation Oncology work experience during the preceding five years
  • At least 5 years of experience performing consultations, CT simulations, treatment planning, and patient follow-up
  • At least 5 years of experience using Varian linear accelerators, including the Edge system or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience providing Image-Guided Radiation Therapy, including Cone Beam CT and work performed under TG-142 standards
  • At least 5 years of experience using Eclipse and ARIA systems and delivering 2D/3D conformal therapy, SRS, SRT, SBRT, IMRT, and VMAT treatments
  • At least 3 years of experience using the Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT Simulator or equivalent to TG-66 standards
  • 3 years of experience using the VA CPRS electronic medical record system is preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support certification. All required BLS renewal training must be maintained throughout employment
  • Current DEA registration for the state in which services are performed
  • Current National Provider Identifier and applicable taxonomy-code documentation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing, clinical privileges, background clearance, and facility access before beginning patient-care duties
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and current competency in Radiation Oncology clinical procedures
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
  • Knowledge of professional-care principles, disease processes, patient development, and treatment considerations applicable to Radiation Oncology patients
  • Ability to provide verifiable documentation of education, residency, training, employment history, licenses, certifications, and any gaps in educational or vocational history
  • Compliance with continuing medical education requirements is necessary to maintain ABR certification and VA privileges
  • Proof of required health and infection-control clearances, including tuberculosis screening and immunity or vaccination documentation for MMR, varicella, Tdap, influenza, and Hepatitis B
  • Completion of bloodborne-pathogen training and all other required occupational-health documentation

  • Basic Life Support every two years
  • Government Ethics annually
  • Patient Abuse training annually
  • Patient Rights training annually
  • Patient Safety training annually
  • Disruptive Behavior and Violence Prevention Level I annually
  • Workplace Harassment and No FEAR Act training annually
  • Suicide Risk Management Training for Clinicians annually
  • Infection Control and Bloodborne Pathogens training annually
  • VA Core Values and ICARE Recommitment training annually
  • VA Privacy, Information Security, and Rules of Behavior training annually
  • VHA Privacy and HIPAA-focused training annually
  • Active Threat training annually
  • CPRS, electronic health records, and other VA-mandated system training as assigned
