Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating government-furnished or contractor-owned powered industrial trucks to safely move, stage, and organize palletized merchandise within the RSHA and designated receiving areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid forklift certification (OSHA-compliant)
- 1 year of experience operating forklifts or MHE
- Must understand forklift safety and maintenance procedures
- Ability to work in refrigerated or freezer storage environments
- Must pass a base access background screening
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload, transport, and store goods
- Adhere to designated driving lanes and lifting protocols within RSHA
- Maintain forklift logs and report any maintenance issues
- Assist with physical placement of items in temperature-controlled zones
- Secure and safely stack merchandise in designated staging areas
- Follow safety and emission control requirements for MHE operations
- Remove fuel tanks for propane-powered units after shifts as required
