The Position:
The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization and ensures accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, experienced in non-profit accounting, and passionate about supporting a mission centered on serving individuals with disabilities.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage daily accounting functions including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and timely reconciliations, journal entries, and financial records.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Provide financial analysis to support program decisions and organizational planning.
- Track program expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and funding requirements.
Grant & Compliance Oversight
- Manage grant accounting, reporting, and fund tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as donor requirements.
- Support annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Support and mentor accounting staff, helping to identify and optimize the strengths of current team members to enhance departmental performance.
- Collaborate with the Department of leadership to promote financial transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (non-profit experience strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MIP, Sage Intacct).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience with government grants or disability-focused service organizations preferred.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- High integrity, ethical judgment, and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive environment.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
The Location:
LADACIN is based in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Our locations are in beautiful natural surroundings. This location is in Monmouth County.
