IT Support Engineer — Remote Support & Field Services
LAComputech LLC
Location: Remote and onsite throughout Louisiana and surrounding states
Employment type: Full-time
Compensation: Determined on experience
Work arrangement: Remote support and client-site service; field availability required
About the role
LAComputech LLC is hiring experienced IT Support Engineers to support our business clients remotely and onsite. We are hiring promptly and welcome candidates available for an early start.
We’re looking for strong troubleshooters who take ownership, communicate clearly, and follow through. You should be comfortable resolving everyday support requests, investigating more complex technical problems, and visiting client locations when hands-on support is needed.
What you’ll do
- Own support tickets from initial assessment through resolution, keeping clients informed and confirming that fixes work.
- Troubleshoot Windows workstations, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, printers, scanners, and business applications.
- Administer user accounts, licenses, permissions, multifactor authentication, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Diagnose network and connectivity issues involving DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and internet service providers.
- Provide onsite troubleshooting, equipment installation, workstation replacements, network equipment setup, and site assessments.
- Monitor and investigate backup failures, endpoint health issues, and security alerts, following established procedures and escalating appropriately.
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, shared files, and remote access environments within your experience and assigned responsibilities.
- Coordinate with vendors and other engineers to resolve application, telecom, hardware, and infrastructure problems.
- Maintain clear ticket notes, accurate time entries, asset records, and technical documentation.
- Contribute to client projects, recurring maintenance, and improvements that reduce repeat issues.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience independently resolving IT support issues in business environments; typically three or more years in technical support, systems administration, or a comparable role.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 administration, user access management, and network troubleshooting.
- A structured approach to diagnosis: gather evidence, identify likely causes, test solutions, and verify results.
- Ability to manage competing requests across multiple clients and prioritize by urgency and business impact.
- Clear, professional communication with both technical colleagues and nontechnical users.
- Consistent ownership, sound judgment, and willingness to escalate with useful notes and troubleshooting evidence.
- Availability to travel to client sites throughout [service area], including scheduled visits and urgent onsite needs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for required client-site travel.
Helpful experience
- Managed service provider experience supporting multiple client environments.
- Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and Windows Server administration.
- Remote monitoring and management tools, ticketing systems, and documentation platforms such as NinjaOne and Hudu.
- Endpoint security and backup platforms such as Huntress and MSP360.
- SonicWall, Fortinet, UniFi, or comparable networking equipment.
- Citrix, virtualization, VoIP, and business application support.
- PowerShell scripting and practical automation.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or other technical certifications.
Field availability and schedule
Client-site service is an essential part of this role. Candidates must be comfortable moving between remote troubleshooting and hands-on field work.
Regular schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
After-hours or on-call expectations: On occasion / Once every 3 – 4 weeks
What success looks like
You resolve issues thoroughly, keep clients informed, document your work, and arrive prepared for onsite visits. You recognize when an issue needs additional expertise and maintain ownership while coordinating the next steps.
