Duties
- Lead and supervise all pharmacy activities, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and state pharmacy laws
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, including Immunization.
- Manage inventory levels efficiently to prevent shortages or overstocking, including medication storage and controlled substances
- Conduct patient assessments to support clinical pharmacy services, including pediatrics, pain management, and critical care cases
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, medication therapy reviews, and patient care strategies
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation and data management
- Provide immunizations and educate patients on medication administration, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to enhance understanding and compliance
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring proper medication dispensing and inventory management.
- Participate in local Community health events.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards related to pharmacy practice, including HIPAA privacy rules
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols
- Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments within an acute care environment
- Knowledge of immunizations procedures and vaccination protocols
- Excellent communication skills for patient service and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior pharmacy technician supervision experience is highly desirable
