JOB DESCRIPTION Production Line Lead (4786)
Location: Southwest Houston area
Position Summary:
The Production Line Lead is responsible for leading, operating, monitoring, and coordinating activities on a chemical bottling/packaging line to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient production. Provides day-to-day direction to line operators while ensuring all safety, quality, and production standards are met and daily production targets are achieved.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and support production line operators in the operation, adjustment, and monitoring of bottling line equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, etc.).
- Ensure production line is set up according to batch specifications, including correct bottles, caps, labels, and packaging materials.
- Oversee and perform quality checks on filled containers, caps, labels, lot codes, and packaging to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate workflow to maintain continuous production and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot line stoppages and minor equipment issues; perform basic mechanical adjustments and escalate major issues as needed.
- Ensure raw materials (bottles, caps, boxes) are loaded and maintained at adequate levels throughout the shift.
- Train, coach, and support line operators on proper procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Complete and verify production logs, lot tracking, and documentation for accuracy.
- Enforce all safety and chemical handling procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with and lead line changeovers, cleaning, and sanitization between products.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and enforce 5S practices.
- Communicate production issues, staffing needs, and quality concerns to supervisors, maintenance, and QC promptly.
Qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Experience in a blending or chemical handling environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, packaging, or a related production environment preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership or lead/operator experience in a production setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor adjustments and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, SOPs, and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Willingness to work with chemicals using appropriate PPE and safety practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Shift Schedule:
Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
Must be willing to work OT and weekends as needed, based on workloads.
Salary:
$18/hr
