Journeyman Electrician - Atlanta, Ga ; Candidates that are open to all shifts
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on commercial construction projects while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position requires the ability to work independently, lead apprentices when needed, and maintain high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced construction environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems in accordance with NEC and local electrical codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
- Install EMT, RMC, IMC, PVC, and flexible conduit.
- Perform conduit bending using hand and mechanical benders.
- Pull, terminate, and test feeders, branch circuits, and low-voltage wiring.
- Install electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, disconnects, and distribution equipment.
- Install lighting systems, lighting controls, occupancy sensors, and emergency lighting.
- Install receptacles, switches, circuit breakers, and electrical devices.
- Perform electrical rough-in, trim-out, and final installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify issues, and complete repairs efficiently.
- Test electrical systems using multimeters, meggers, and other testing equipment.
- Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, apprentices, and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and job site procedures.
- Mentor and assist apprentice electricians as needed.
Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific if required).
- 5 years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience installing conduit, cable tray, raceways, lighting, panels, and electrical equipment.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting and testing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various job sites, if required.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must be able to provide proper identification
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts
- Experience with commercial tenant build-outs, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, retail, or warehouse projects
