DescriptionWe are seeking a safety-conscious, reliable Hostler / Dock Worker to support our high-volume facility. In this dual-function role, you will safely operate yard tractors (hostlers) to move trailers and containers around the yard, spot equipment at dock doors, and work on the loading dock to transfer, secure, and tally freight.

• Safely operate a yard tractor/hostler to transport trailers and containers between yard parking spots and facility dock doors.

• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and trailers, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues immediately.

• Maintain an organized, fluid yard layout to prevent bottlenecks and ensure seamless continuity between the various operations.

• Load, unload, and transload various types of freight (palletized goods, floor-loaded commodities, oversized cargo, or bulk materials) safely and efficiently.

• Operate material handling equipment.

• Secure, block, and brace freight inside trailers and containers to prevent shifting and damage during transit.

• Inspect incoming and outgoing cargo for damages, overages, or shortages, and report discrepancies.

• Maintain a clean, debris-free loading dock and yard environment to ensure strict compliance with OSHA and company safety standards..

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating a yard hostler/spotter truck.

  • Proven warehouse, transload, or dock worker experience within the logistics or freight industry.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Working knowledge of safe rigging, blocking, and bracing procedures for transloaded freight.

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate closely with dispatchers, drivers, and fellow dock staff.

• Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, twisting, and climbing in and out of truck cabs and docks for extended periods.

  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions, as a significant portion of yard and dock work takes place outdoors or in non-climate-controlled environments.
