RESPONSIBILITIES
Set-up and run converting equipment by following all Standard Work, including but not limited t
- Adjustment and calibration of feeding, folding, gumming, sealing, banding and slitting mechanisms to job specifications
- Installation of gears, plungers, rollers, etc.
- Set-up and perform trial operation to achieve maximum equipment performance to job specifications
- Provide critical information and job specific instructions to operator and monitor throughout job completion
- Continually oversee all converting equipment in operation to proactively detect malfunction or problems expediently through observation and listening
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative, emergency and scheduled maintenance
- Help develop, train, coach and develop equipment operators, kitters and adjuster trainees
- Participate in and promote team problem solving and process improvement
- Maintain production records and equipment logs accurately and timely
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of adjuster training modules and training materials
- Understand and embrace Continuous Improvement and support a team environment
- Adherence to all safety rules including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and clothing that complies with Company policy
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience preferred
SKILLS
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to comprehend and execute complex written and verbal job specifications and instruct
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing complex job specifications and instructions
- Strong mechanical background is needed to perform all aspects of this job. Must have a good sense of how machines work and run
- Ability to provide work direction, train and develop others in a supportive and positive manner
- Strong skills in math and ruling; attention to precision and detail and a desire to achieve customer satisfaction
- Demonstrated openness to process improvement and change
- Good attendance and punctuality and willingness to work overtime as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Ability to be flexible with wide range of body motions, especially stooping, lifting, pushing and pulling and to endure repetitive motions in order to move materials
- The employee must occasionally exert up to 75 pounds and lift up to 40 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment with constant noise
- Exposure to inks, solvents, glue – materials are detailed with readily available SDS sheets
