Clinical Technologist
Moderate or High Complexity Laboratory - Part time/full time
The Medical Technologist is responsible for the daily testing of patient samples in all areas of the clinical laboratory according to established policies and procedures to include: operation of computerized and automated instrumentation, quality control and maintenance, test results distribution, referral testing, and phlebotomy procedures as needed.
Must be knowledgeable of the principles upon which lab tests are based and can recognize appropriate questionable and critical results. Possesses the ability to organize workload for maximum efficiency, accuracy and ensures that reports are legible.
Assists Lab Supervisors with all training of new and existing employees on an on-going basis. Actively participates in Lab Quality Assurance. Performs all routine Quality Control and equipment maintenance and documents all actions including remediation.
Lab Technologist Is Responsible For
Minimum B.S. Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or B.S. Degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences.
Florida State Technologist or eligible required, under section of State Regulations
At least 3 years of lab experience, with a proven record of consistent and accurate performance.
Training and experience in working with Beckman Coulter analyzers.
Preferred Qualifications
Beckman Coulter: AU480 Chemistry Analyzer, Access 2 Immunoassay Analyzer, LH 750 Hematology Analyzer, ACL Elite Coagulation Analyzer.
Excellent MS Office and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the desire to grow and continue education.

Work Hours
Morning shift: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Evening shift: 4:00 pm - 12:00 am

Lab Technologist Is Responsible For
- Instructs and trains, all new and existing Medical Technicians and lab staff on the policies and procedures of the clinical lab.
- Reviews and initials all areas of orientation and competency for the assigned department.
- Reports errors and problems to appropriate department/supervisor for remedial action.
- Assists Technicians in the interpretation of abnormal results.
- Covers any shift or lab department when necessary in compliance with state regulations.
- Encourages and promotes a work environment that facilitates team efforts, positive attitudes and creativity among co-workers both within and outside the department.
- Responsible for Quality Control and Maintenance, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual records of all quality control and equipment maintenance according to established department policy and procedure. Follows lab protocol for quality control acceptability.
- Performs all survey and proficiency tests and reports results according to policy.
- Documents all correction action according to departmental policy.
