### **Key Responsibilities** {#key-responsibilities data-start="1033" end="1061"}
- Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field for procedures
- Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs by selecting and passing
- Perform surgical counts with circulating staff in accordance with
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and room turnover
- Ensure proper handling, care, and sterilization of surgical
- Maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention standards at all
- Participate in stocking, inventory management, and supply
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing staff,
- Respond appropriately in urgent or emergent situations
**Education & Certification**
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred, not
two-year college or Bachelor\'s Degree (B.S.N.) from a four year
college with licensure as a Registered Nurse in Kansas
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, not required
- BLS certification required (or obtained upon hire)
- Previous surgical or procedural experience preferred
