Description:
Labette Health is seeking a motivated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our Regional Transport Service (RTS) team based in Neodesha, Kansas. This position provides basic emergency medical care, responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls, assists the paramedic in patient care, and safely transports patients to appropriate medical facilities. Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
- Rotating schedule: 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls.
- Assess, stabilize, and transport patients using established EMS protocols.
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care in accordance with Kansas and local EMS guidelines.
- Assist the paramedic with Advanced Life Support (ALS) interventions and patient care.
- Monitor patients during transport and communicate changes in condition to the paramedic and receiving facility.
- Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of ambulances, equipment, and medical supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and response-ready work environment.
- Participate in continuing education, department training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with hospitals, first responders, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Current Kansas EMT certification.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- PALS certification preferred. Employees who are not PALS certified must enroll in the next available Labette Health course.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Previous EMS experience preferred but not required.
