Role Description The Director of Respiratory Care is a full-time, on-site position located at the main campus in Parsons, KS. This role oversees the Respiratory Care program, including curriculum development, course scheduling, and program accreditation compliance. The director provides instructional leadership, teaches selected courses as needed, and supports student success through advising, mentorship, and ongoing assessment of learning outcomes. Daily responsibilities include supervising faculty and staff, coordinating clinical placements with healthcare partners, and ensuring that program policies align with institutional and regulatory requirements. The director collaborates with college leadership to promote the program, participate in committees, manage program resources, and maintain high standards of clinical and academic quality.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in respiratory care and related fields, with strong foundations in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
- Background in Nursing or allied health disciplines supporting interdisciplinary patient care and collaboration.
- Experience in Case Management, care coordination, and clinical decision-making within acute or chronic care settings.
- Demonstrated Training and educational skills, including teaching, curriculum design, and competency-based assessment.
- Relevant professional licensure or certification in respiratory care or a closely related healthcare field (or eligibility to obtain), as required by state and accrediting bodies.
- Advanced academic preparation, such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in respiratory therapy, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related discipline.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in an academic or clinical environment, with the ability to manage teams and resources effectively.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement processes in healthcare education.
