What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flexographic Press Operator position at Label Products, Inc.?
Location: Locally owned Label Printing Company, Houston, TX Pinemont/290 area
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently set up and operate a flexographic press to print labels to specifications adjusting speed and stock alignment as necessary
- Ensure consistent quality throughout production
- Perform line clearances and end-of-roll inspections during production runs
- Read job orders and load dies, print cylinders, and other tools
- Troubleshoot and do general repairs on the press as needed
- Collaborate with management on product quality and process improvements
- Maintain exceptional quality standards in line with company and industry expectations
- Fill ink pans and pumps according to job order specifications
- Produce high-quality jobs in a timely manner with minimal waste
- Accurately record production details, including stock notes, color sequences, and more
- Engage print cylinders and adjust printing impression as necessary
- Obtain management approvals for printed rolls and inspect products for imperfections
- Clean plates, print cylinders, tooling, and press area as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance on the press and tools as required
Requirements:
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 yrs experience with 4 Color Mark Andy Press
- 3 yrs of experience in manufacturing
- Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. continuously and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Proficient in using hands, wrists, and shoulders continuously in controlled movements
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals)
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Physically capable of bending, lifting, moving around, and standing for the entire shift
- Accurate ruler reading down to 1/8” (preferably to 1/32”)
- Comfortable with a detailed process and working at a fast pace
- Mechanical aptitude
