What are the responsibilities and job description for the Salon Coordinator position at Lab & Lounge: A Concept Salon?
Salon Receptionist / Front Desk Lead-in-Training
Pay: From $15.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Part-time and full-time available
Who We Are
We’re not a traditional salon. We’re an editorial-forward beauty space setting the tone in New Orleans, recently voted Best Place to Get a Manicure in New Orleans (2025). Our work spans luxury client services, culture, and creative industry projects, including film and editorial work. We run at a high level, and our front of house needs to match.
The Role
We’re hiring a Salon Receptionist / Assistant who wants more than a front desk job. This is a growth role built to develop into a lead position. You’ll be the operational backbone of the salon: keeping the schedule moving, the space running smoothly, and clients and staff supported, often all at once.
If you’re the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and does it without being asked, and you’re looking for a place to build a career, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Manage booking and scheduling across all service providers
- Run a polished, efficient client check-in and check-out experience
- Handle retail sales and keep an eye on inventory
- Support marketing: social posts, promotions, and client communication
- Keep clients and team members informed with clear, timely communication
- Keep the salon clean, organized, and ready at all times
- Spot issues early and solve them before they become problems
Who You Are
- A self-starter. You take initiative and don’t need to be micromanaged.
- A strong multitasker. You can juggle phones, clients, and scheduling while staying calm and organized.
- Growth-minded. You’re looking for a job you can grow in, and you’re interested in stepping into a lead or management role.
- Polished and client-focused. You make every guest feel welcome and taken care of.
- A team player who takes ownership and pride in the work.
Where This Role Can Go
- A clear path to a Front Desk Lead position, with the opportunity to grow into management or a salaried role
- Real autonomy: we trust you to run your position
- Exposure to a high-end client base and creative industry projects
- A collaborative, driven team that values your ideas
