Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. The Specimen Processing Specialist will be responsible for handling and processing medical specimens, managing data entry and related documentation, and ensuring specimens are properly labeled and stored. The role includes collaborating with laboratory staff, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and verifying the accuracy of information to support quality diagnostic outcomes.
Qualifications
- Possess foundational Laboratory Skills, including sample handling, labeling, and preparation
- Strong Communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders
- Analytical Skills to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues with specimen data
- Proficiency in Computer Literacy, including experience with data entry, lab software, and record management
- Understanding of Medical Terminology for accurate interpretation and processing of specimen information
- Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional specialization or certification is a plus
- Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is preferred
