The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and improving the Turboflue machines, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performance requirements. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering principles, with a focus on machine operation, control systems, and structural components. They will maintain the integrity of the equipment and associated documentation and drawings. They will set-up, adjust and operate machine tools to perform progressive machining operations on a variety of standardized work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize electrical and mechanical components for the Turboflue machines, including weld heads, wiring, and structural assemblies.
- Ensure that department production requirements are met; and that any backlog is at an acceptable level.
- Conduct performance, durability, and safety tests on Turboflue equipment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design team, Operations, Supply Chain) to ensure seamless product development and production.
- Work with 3rd party vendors to assist with repairs and improvements to machines.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in existing Turboflue machines.
- Assist in trouble-shooting and the repairing of other production machines and equipment.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Electrical experience preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, thermal systems, and mechanical design principles.
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., UL, CE) and energy‑efficiency regulations.
- Experience with hands‑on repairs and machining.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with IoT‑enabled appliances or smart control systems.
- Background in manufacturing processes and cost optimization.
