As a LaAmistad Driver, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our community, ensuring students arrive on time, safely, and ready to learn. The driver is responsible for operating vans and small buses and transporting up to 14 students safely to LaAmistad Afterschool. In this position, using a checklist, you will be expected to ensure a clean and mechanically sound vehicle, follow traffic rules and regulations, and provide excellent customer service to our students and families. This position is part time with hours generally between 1:30-6:00pm and reports to the afterschool manager.
Reports to: Afterschool Manager
(4-8 hours per week - Part-time) additional hours may be available weekends and summers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a vehicle safely and efficiently to transport passengers to various destinations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition
- Manage Student behavior and report any misconduct
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior
- Communicate with the afterschool manager regarding routes and schedules
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the appropriate authorities
immediately
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be 25 or older
- Clean driving record
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass background, drug and alcohol tests
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good physical health and ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred but not required
- Fluent in Spanish
- Knowledge/experience working with the LatinX community

Van/Bus pick up location: 3434 Roswell Road Atlanta GA 30305 or 120 Northwood Dr, Sandy Springs GA 30342
M/W Time 3 pm- 5:30 pm
T/Th Time: 2 pm till 5:30 pm
Mondays and Wednesdays: Pick up from Briar Vista ES and drop off at Clairmont between 2:00-3:00 PM.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Pick up from Woodward and drop off at Brookhaven between 2:20-2:30 PM. Then, pick up from Morningside and drop off at Metro between 2:45-3:00 PM.
Mondays to Thursdays: Pick up from Lake Forest ES and drop off at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church between 3:00-3:30 PM. Subsequently, provide drop-off at LCC for children requiring it between 5:00-5:30 PM.
Mondays to Thursdays: Pick up from Peachtree Church at 5:30 PM. Between 5:30-6:30 PM, conduct parent drop-offs.
Mondays to Thursdays: pick up from Lake Forest to Sandy Springs UMC Between 3:00 pm- 3:20 pm. SSUMC to LaAmistad Community Center 5:00-5:15 pm.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Pick up from Doraville United Elm. to Incarnation 2 pm.
