La Rana Bistro is a small, locally owned restaurant in downtown Decorah with a seasonal menu that highlights local produce, scratch-made dishes, and craft cocktails. We are open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday.
We are seeking a skilled Evening Chef to join our culinary team--given our unique, one-person kitchen, this is a crucial position at the heart of our restaurant.
Duties
Prepare and execute high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment according to recipes and quality standards
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
Monitor food stock levels and place orders as needed
Work smoothly with our team and maintain an efficient and positive dynamic across both front and back of house staff.
Qualifications
Preferred but not required: previous experience in a culinary role, preferably in fine dining or catering
Some knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques, or willingness to practice/learn
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Openness to feedback and dedication to improvement
