What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Lawn Care Attendant position at La Quinta Inns & Suites by Wyndham?
The purpose of a maintenance/lawn care attendant is to perform routine property and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, weekly lawn maintenance, monitor utilities and assist in ensuring the safety of guests and associates in compliance with all corporate and brand standards and all federal, state and local laws.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
- Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Conduct weekly lawn maintenance as needed and as assigned by chief engineer or general manager.
- Handle guestroom maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and/or the General Manager with findings.
- Attend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management.
- Ensure that pool and spa are in compliance with area health codes.
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees; Ensure the proper use of radio etiquette within department.
- Establish and maintain key control system.
- Conduct daily property tour of the hotel and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal; Check the lighting and irrigation periodically.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.
