Job Description
Position: Clinical Coordinator Full Time
Reports to: Executive Director
Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field, from an accredited university and a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working with children and families where abuse and violence are identified issues is required. Training in at least one evidence-based treatment utilized in the treatment of trauma and abuse. Independently licensed in the State of New Mexico and able to provide supervision to unlicensed professionals, interns, and other mental health professionals. Must have a minimum of 8 hours of continuing education obtained within the past two years related to childhood abuse and trauma treatment. Must possess professional liability insurance.
Description: This position is a combination of providing outpatient treatment to children, adolescents, and families impacted by child abuse, maltreatment, and trauma and providing supervision and clinical oversight for the Rape Crisis Center at La Pinon and the Trauma Treatment Center at La Pinon’s Children’s Advocacy Center.
Duties:
- Provide and oversee diagnostic assessments of children and adolescents impacted by child abuse, maltreatment, and trauma
- Utilize a standard assessment measure approved by CYFD as part of completing and supervising full psychosocial diagnostic assessments
- Screen and assess the degree and type of emotional and mental health needs of clients and plan their proper treatment, disposition, or referral to higher level of care.
- Plan and supervise treatment in conjunction with client and implements treatment plan.
- Supervise, coordinate, and implement discharge planning from first session, including;
- Discharge planning and referral/follow –up
- Referral to higher level if necessary
- Coordination with Primary Care Physician
- Maintain and store clinical records in accordance with the State of New Mexico State and CYFD requirements.
- Provide individual, family conjoint, or group counseling
- Provide referrals for other services when appropriate
- Make critical assessments regarding client crises situations (ex. suicidal or homicidal)
- Is a team member in Quality Improvement meetings and activities.
- Provide times for appointments in order to meet client needs
- Coordinate counselor meetings with all La Pinon contracted therapists
- Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed professionals who are obtaining hours for licensure, student interns, and other mental health professionals
- Provide clinical consultation as needed

Duties related to Functions:
1. Keep files updated with current assessments, treatments plans, supervision reviews, and changes in client demographic information.
2. Provide information for client satisfaction survey, as needed.
3. Adhere to State of New Mexico and CYFD regulations,
1. Maintains documentation regarding critical incidents (e.g. suicidal ideation, welfare checks)
2. Refers to higher level of care as clinically indicated i.e. medication evaluation, psychiatric hospitalization, etc.)
