What are the responsibilities and job description for the Year-Round Certified Lifeguard (6+ MO. EXP REQ)Year (Part-Time) position at La Petite Baleen?
We are looking for year-round American Red Cross-certified lifeguards.
- Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
- An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the DOD
- If a major emergency is spotted initiate the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions and mandatory meetings.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current certification from American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid
- Lifeguarding skills and knowledge
- Leadership and public relations skills
- Decision-making skills
Work Requirements:
- Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, and bend for up to 8 hours in one working day
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in a humid (degree ranges from 75-90) and noisy environment.
- Able to climb in and out of the pool.
Shifts:
- Weekday afternoons.
