Cannabis Retail Store Budtender

Position Overview: We are seeking friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Budtenders in our cannabis dispensary. As a Budtender, you will be the face of our business, providing expert product recommendations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service to enhance the overall dispensary experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Customer Interaction:

• Greet and engage customers in a welcoming and professional manner.
• Listen actively to customer preferences and needs, providing personalized product recommendations.
• Educate customers on various cannabis strains, products, consumption methods, and effects.

2. Product Knowledge:

• Develop a deep understanding of the different cannabis products available, including flowers, concentrates, edibles, and accessories.
• Stay updated on new product arrivals, strains, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers.

3. Sales and Consultation:

• Assist customers in selecting the most appropriate products based on their preferences and desired effects.
• Provide information on dosages, consumption techniques, and potential interactions.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences.

4. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant local and state regulations governing cannabis sales.
• Verify customer identification and age, maintaining strict adherence to legal requirements.
• Accurately document and record sales transactions and customer information.

5. Customer Service:

• Create a positive and engaging atmosphere for customers, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly.
• Handle challenging situations with empathy and patience.

6. Inventory Management:

• Assist with inventory management, restocking shelves, and organizing displays to ensure products are well-presented and readily available.
• Monitor and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.

7. Health and Safety:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dispensary, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Adhere to proper handling and storage procedures for cannabis products to ensure quality and freshness.

8. Continuous Learning:

• Stay informed about cannabis industry developments, new products, and evolving regulations.
• Attend training sessions and product knowledge seminars provided by the company.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
• Strong knowledge of cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to establish rapport with diverse customer groups.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and documenting information.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and point-of-sale operations.
• Familiarity with local and state regulations related to cannabis sales (preferred but not required).
• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
