WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a committed and proactive Custodial Manager to help lead custodial operations across the district. This individual will oversee custodial teams at all campuses and facilities, coordinate district wide cleaning procedures, ensure health and safety compliance, and serve as a key liaison between the Custodial Department and campus leaders. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver, strong communicator, and committed to operational excellence in support of student learning.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate degree in facilities management or related field preferred
- Custodial, safety, or facilities management certifications preferred
- Experience:
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in custodial or facilities operations
- Experience working in a public school setting or large-scale facility preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in custodial practices, safety protocols, and cleaning standards
- Strong team leadership and personnel management skills
- Knowledge of health and environmental safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Ability to analyze budgets, manage inventory, and ensure cost-effectiveness
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise work across multiple sites
- Commitment to creating safe, instruction-ready environments
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership & Oversight:
- Supervise, evaluate, and support custodial teams at all campuses and facilities
- Ensure custodial procedures align with district standards and safety expectations
- Maintain communication with principals and department heads regarding custodial needs
Operational Management:
- Develop and implement custodial schedules, cleaning procedures, and seasonal projects (e.g., summer deep cleaning)
- Conduct frequent walkthroughs and inspections of all facilities
- Maintain inventory and manage distribution of custodial supplies and equipment
- Support emergency preparedness and facility readiness for inclement weather
Compliance & Training:
- Ensure custodial staff are trained in safety procedures, chemical handling, and infection control
- Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local health/safety regulations
- Maintain personnel records, training documentation, and compliance logs
Collaboration & Customer Service:
- Serve as a key point of contact for campus administrators, responding to concerns and service requests
- Partner with central office and M&O teams to align custodial operations with broader district goals
- Represent the custodial department in operational planning and districtwide meetings
Reporting & Evaluation:
- Provide regular reports on custodial performance, cost analysis, and service outcomes
- Use data to assess staffing efficiency, supply usage, and service quality
Other Duties:
- Assist the Director of Custodial Services as needed
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Select, assign, and evaluate custodial personnel across the district
- Coordinate and train new hires and substitutes
- Recommend personnel actions such as transfers, retention, or corrective action
