Locum Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (2–4 Week Assignment)
La Jolla Vein & Vascular is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a temporary locum assignment (approximately 2–4 weeks) to provide outpatient vein care while supporting our physician team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of Southern California's premier accredited vein centers alongside nationally recognized vein specialists in a collaborative, physician-led practice. Our clinic provides comprehensive outpatient evaluation and treatment of venous disease using advanced, minimally invasive techniques.
Position Responsibilities
During this temporary assignment, responsibilities will include:
- Conducting new patient consultations and follow-up visits
- Developing treatment plans for patients with venous disease using established clinical protocols
- Reviewing venous duplex ultrasound studies (training/orientation provided if needed)
- Educating patients about their diagnosis, treatment options, and post-procedure care
- Performing preoperative evaluations
- Collaborating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and our accredited vascular laboratory
- Providing high-quality, compassionate outpatient care while helping maintain continuity for our patients

Ideal Candidate
- Licensed California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Previous experience in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, or other procedural specialties preferred
- Comfortable seeing patients independently in a busy outpatient setting
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Team-oriented with excellent clinical judgment
- Ability to quickly integrate into an established practice
Assignment Details
- Duration: Approximately 2–4 weeks
- Schedule: Monday–Friday (flexible based on availability)
- Setting: Outpatient only
- Start Date: Immediate / Flexible
- Compensation: Competitive locum compensation based on experience
