Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, dedicated and energetic Oral Surgical Assistant with X-ray certification to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and provide excellent customer service skills. Your expertise in dental assisting, imaging, and dental terminology will contribute to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Assist and provide services requested/required by the surgeons before, during and after surgical procedures.
- Take x-rays.
- Set up and prepare instruments, equipment, and operating rooms needed for surgical procedures.
- Completion of patient medical records with the doctors - surgical notes, consent forms, post-op notes, etc.
- Posting procedures and treatment plans for the Financial Coordinator.
- Patient education – pre and post operative.
- Sterilization of instruments, equipment and operatories.
- Patient post-op and follow-up calls each day.
- Daily drug count AM & PM.
- Send electronic prescriptions to pharmacies for patients.
- Be a team player at all times, ready and willing to help in any capacity needed.
Requirements
- California X-ray License
- Current CPR
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices
Preferred, but not mandatory:
- OMSA certifications
- ACLS certifications
- DAANCE certifications
- PALS certifications
- Proven experience in oral surgery assisting
