Admissions Assistant / Coordinator
Position Summary:
Assists with patient/resident transfers and arrivals to the facility, scheduling and ensuring a positive experience for all involved, following up on referrals, verifying insurance and other required authorizations, and general office duties.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Intake admissions experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification preferred
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
Responsibilities:
- Reviews referrals, assisting with patients/guardians/advocates interviews to secure all necessary information and paperwork as needed for admitting to the facility
- Answers phones, inquiries, and questions regarding the admissions process
- Ensures that rooms are ready for incoming patients/residents
- Welcomes new patients– ensuring a positive experience for all involved
- Maintains an accurate count of available beds, updated list of all residents and their assigned rooms, reporting and providing copies as needed to requesting agencies and authorized personnel in accordance with all privacy regulations and policies
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents in accordance with all regulations
- Reviews, updates, provides and explains admission information packets (e.g., resident rights, a notice of privacy practices, admissions contract, etc.)
