About the Role
The Circulating Nurse plays a critical role in supporting our surgical team and ensuring each patient receives safe, personalized care throughout their surgical experience. This position is ideal for an RN with strong OR experience who enjoys a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for scheduled surgical procedures.
- Ensure all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and functioning.
- Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and site according to safety protocols.
- Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs and providing sterile supplies as required.
- Document intraoperative care accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, OSHA, and AAAASF standards.
Qualifications
- Current California RN license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of OR Circulator experience, preferably in a plastic or cosmetic surgery setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to sterile technique.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Plastic Surgery OR Nurse Requirements:
- Registered Nurse
- Part-time / Per diem
- Minimum of two years' experience in plastic surgery, ortho, or general surgery.
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, bend, stoop, and/or sit for long periods of time in one location.
- Able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Ability to manipulate instruments, supplies, and equipment with speed, dexterity, and coordination.
