Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team. This role will support daily accounting operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow their accounting skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Location: Vineland, NJ
Pay: $26- $31 per hour
Type: Contract to hire (long-term opportunity)

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Prepare and send customer invoices; follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
• Record and post journal entries into the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Reconcile account discrepancies by researching and resolving issues.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Support other accounting functions and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
