What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) position at La Hacienda Treatment Center?
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for general nursing care of all patients at La Hacienda Treatment Center. The RN may be assigned to perform direct patient care in the Special Care Unit (SCU), or may be assigned to administer medications to patients. The RN may also be assigned to perform the initial Admission Nursing Assessment, or to work in the laboratory (when skill set is proficient). In all cases, the RN is accountable to the Charge Nurse and as such need to have strong organizational and communication skills.
Schedule
- 12 hour shifts
- Rotating nights and weekends
- Schedule made at least 1 month in advance to allow work-life balance

- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas.
- Must have current CPR Certification. (Will provide CPR Certification Class, if needed)
- Minimum of one year experience in general nursing and/or one year experience in psychiatric/substance abuse nursing preferred.
- CARN Certification is desirable.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be able to walk across campus multiple times during a shift as required.
- Must be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 pounds.
