Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and forklifts.
- Use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, schematics, and electrical diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and metal fabrication to repair or modify equipment components.
- Service construction machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets such as tractor-trailers to ensure optimal operation.
- Replace or repair transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignment components to maintain safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to execute repairs efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs for compliance and future reference.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment maintenance in dealership settings or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair procedures across various machinery types.
- Familiarity with electrical systems diagnostics including wiring schematics and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Hands-on experience working with OEM parts and understanding of construction equipment servicing standards.
- Ability to read technical schematics and perform precise fabrication or welding tasks as needed.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools for automotive diagnostics and hydraulic system troubleshooting.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is highly desirable; certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
