Duties
- Safely operate a range of vehicles such as passenger vans, shuttle buses, limousine, and personal delivery vehicles on designated local routes.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and safety protocols while maintaining punctuality.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers and clients, addressing their needs professionally and courteously.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Assist passengers with boarding, alighting, and handling luggage or heavy items as needed with proper manual handling techniques.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow efficient routes, adjust plans based on traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries or pickups.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, deliveries, mileage, and vehicle condition for record-keeping purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur driving various types of passenger or cargo vehicles.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize efficiency.
- Experience operating passenger vans, shuttle buses, limousine services, or medical transportation vehicles such as paratransit or client-specific driver roles.
- Knowledge of manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks related to luggage or cargo.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and commercial driving standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and reporting issues or incidents clearly.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify potential mechanical issues.
