Hillview Health Care Center – La Crosse County
Starting Wage: $20.19 per hour
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Are you interested in beginning a rewarding career in long term care? Hillview Health Care Center is seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team as Nurse Aides in Training. This is a paid training opportunity that prepares you to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while working and gaining valuable hands on experience.
While completing your training, you will work as a Household Assistant, supporting both residents and staff. Once CNA certification is received, the applicant will transfer into an open CNA position on the PM shift. Household Assistant hours during training can be discussed.

What You’ll Do
- Assist residents with daily living needs under supervision
- Support resident-centered care and help create a positive home environment
- Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks in resident living areas
- Stock supplies, assist with meals, and help with group or individual activities
- Follow safety, infection control, and resident care procedures
- Collaborate with a supportive team to meet individualized resident needs
- Maintain resident rights, confidentiality, and uphold respectful, compassionate service
- Individuals at least 17 years old
- Enrolled or willing to enroll in an approved Nurse Aide Training Program
- Ability to be placed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry within 120 days of training enrollment
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to excellent service
- Experience working with seniors or cleaning/housekeeping is a plus, but not required
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job (lifting, mobility, resident support)
- Must pass a background check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law
