Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Paraprofessional role based in La Crescent, MN. The Paraprofessional supports licensed teachers in the classroom by assisting with instruction, preparing learning materials, and helping maintain an organized, safe, and engaging learning environment. Daily responsibilities include working with small groups or individual students, reinforcing lessons, and providing guidance during academic activities, transitions, and routines. The role also involves supervising students in common areas, supporting behavior expectations, documenting observations, and communicating student needs to teaching staff. Paraprofessionals collaborate closely with teachers and other school personnel to ensure each student receives appropriate support aligned with Montessori and STEM learning approaches.
Qualifications
- Ability to support classroom instruction, including working with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning.
- Skills in classroom management, student supervision, and maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, students, families, and staff.
- Capacity to follow educational plans, adapt to diverse learning needs, and provide inclusive support to students.
- Organizational skills for preparing materials, assisting with classroom setup, and supporting daily routines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or experience in education, childcare, or related fields is beneficial.
- Interest in or familiarity with Montessori and STEM-based education is preferred.
- Ability to stand, move about the classroom, and assist students with various activities throughout the day.
