La Crescent Healthcare is seeking a dependable Cook/Dietary Aide to join our dietary team in a part-time position. This is a dual role: depending on the needs of the day, you will work either as a cook or as a dietary (kitchen) aide.
Responsibilities
As a Cook:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and residents' prescribed diets
- Follow portion control, food temperature, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Prepare texture-modified and special-diet meals as directed
- Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
As a Dietary Aide:
- Assist with food preparation and plating meals
- Serve meals and beverages to residents
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas
- Help receive, store, label, and rotate food and supplies
Qualifications
- Experience in food service, cooking, or a healthcare kitchen preferred but not required
- Willingness to work as either a cook or a dietary aide based on the needs of the day
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, or willingness to learn
- Ability to follow recipes, diet orders, and written and verbal instructions
- Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team
