What You'll Own
You'll be the gatekeeper between a signed contract and a job that's actually ready to build, managing the submittal, RFI, and permitting process for projects ranging from university renovations to aviation authority facilities.
- Prepare and manage submittal schedules and RFI logs from contract award through mobilization, keeping every project audit-ready in JobTread
- Navigate agency-specific pre-construction requirements for clients like the Port Authority, universities, and other institutional owners — including safety plans, security clearances, and compliance packages
- Track and secure building and trade permits, coordinating with municipal, state, and agency authorities to prevent schedule delays
- Draft and route RFIs to architects and engineers, tracking responses and flagging schedule impacts
- Coordinate submittal reviews with design teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring long-lead items are identified and released on time
- Support prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance documentation on public works projects
- Work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to hand off a fully-documented, buildable project
- Maintain organized, current project records in JobTread so every stakeholder can see project status at a glance
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience in pre-construction, project engineering, or submittal/RFI management in commercial construction
- Experience with institutional, university, aviation, or other agency-regulated projects is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of permitting processes and public agency compliance requirements
- Highly organized, detail-obsessed, and comfortable owning multiple project timelines at once
- Strong written communication when drafting RFIs, transmittals, and compliance documentation that represents the company to owners and agencies
- Experience with construction management software
- A problem-solver's mindset, someone who catches a missing permit or a lead-time conflict weeks before it becomes a fire drill
