About the Role

As a Mobile Dental Assistant, you will support our Mobile Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and help deliver preventive dental care to children in school settings. You’ll ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for students, maintain equipment and supplies, and assist with a variety of clinical and administrative tasks that keep the Healthy Smiles Program running efficiently.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working independently, building relationships with school partners, and creating positive dental experiences for children.

  • Register patients in DentaSeal/EDR; verify insurance, demographics, and guarantor information.

  • Prepare students for treatment and provide comfort, reassurance, and clear communication.

  • Chart suspected decay and disease in DentaSeal for RDH review.

  • Assist the RDH during procedures, including instrument handling and material preparation.

  • Sterilize/disinfect instruments and maintain aseptic techniques.

  • Provide oral health education to students and support ongoing preventive care.

  • Maintain and transport equipment; replenish supplies; load/unload mobile units at schools.

  • Support case management by following up with guardians and connecting families with dental homes.

  • Complete treatment forms sent home with guardians.

  • Foster positive relationships with school staff, parents/guardians, and community partners.

  • Attend required meetings, OSHA trainings, and follow CDC and organizational guidelines.

In-Clinic Responsibilities (During Non-School Days)

  • Prepare patients for dental care and assist dentists chairside.

  • Expose and develop diagnostic dental x-rays.

  • Record medical/dental histories and treatment notes.

  • Maintain operatory cleanliness, equipment functionality, and adequate supplies.

  • Provide oral hygiene instruction and postoperative guidance.

  • Assist with emergencies and routine procedure support.

  • Pour and trim stone models.

  • Support patient communication related to treatment and financial arrangements.

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary & comprehensive benefits, including:

    • 20 days of PTO (accrual begins on day one!)

    • 8 Paid Holidays

    • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Insurance

  • Completion of a dental assisting program or six months of related experience preferred

  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a clean driving record per company policy

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure, and problem-solve effectively

  • Commitment to confidentiality, patient care, and building strong community relationships
