Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional guest relations.
- Manage restaurant reservations using OpenTable, ensuring accurate seating arrangements.
- Coordinate with the service team to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times through effective table management.
- Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, taking reservations and providing information about the restaurant.
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests.
- Assist with guest inquiries regarding menu items or restaurant policies, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and organization in the host/hostess station.
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar food service role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong customer service and guest relations skills, with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and table management systems such as OpenTable and Toast.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction.
- Basic math skills for handling reservations and seating calculations
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and hospitality standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
