PART-TIME PERSONAL CHEF AT LA BONNE VIE, LLC

We are looking for a detail-oriented, Personal Chef trained in healthy, sustainable, and organic scratch cooking methods, with experience in special dietary needs or willing to learn.
This is a unique position as the schedule provides ample flexibility for the employee to have a life outside of work and finally work normal hours as a Chef.
We are looking for someone that wants to be creative with menu planning and bring their years of experience to create truly unique menus for our personalized prepared meal delivery clients. Our menus change weekly and are fully customized. We believe that food is medicine and are looking for someone that understands the importance of organic ingredients and sustainable farming practices as our clients demand this.
We are looking for someone to join our growing team so we can continue to add to our services such as pop dinners with unique approaches, grab and go from our store front as well increase our catering production. We have been in business for nearly 10 years and need to hire quickly to be able to support growing businesses and serve more people.
You must be extremely detail-oriented have some knowledge of special dietary needs and be able to substitute ingredients to create a final product that wows our clients regardless of their preferences.
We serve a very high end clientele to include affluent families and professional athletes who are used to a high level of service, extreme attention to detail and the best of ingredients.
You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality ingredients, ensuring the kitchen is cleaned at health department regulations level, customer service, and ensuring that high-quality, personalized meals go out each day. Our menu changes weekly to give our families the ultimate, high-end meal delivery experience.
Job Details:
This is a part time position with the opportunity to explore a full-time position,
(starting from 10-20 hours) and will be required to work occasionally on Saturday and
Sunday and some evenings.
Break Down of Responsibilities:
- Assist in menu planning
- Manage inventory of ingredients to ensure sufficient availability.
- Purchase supplies from Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, etc. every Friday or Sunday before the cook week as needed.
- Check-in products from vendors such as Creation Gardens.
- Keep a running list of items needed from various vendors so that they are available.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized to include quarterly deep cleaning.
- Make sure opening and closing checklists are complete and up to date.
- Prepare food in a timely manner to ensure a quality product.
- Attention to detail is a must. The position is responsible for ensuring that all client guidelines are followed, especially allergies and specific wants and needs.
- Quality control of all food to include garnishing, taste, presentation and cooked according to client guidelines, and prepared so that food will be ready for the client to eat within 20 to 30 minutes.
- Deliver to clients as needed.
- Responsible for organizing and scheduling daily preparation of food to ensure high quality. Food must be packaged and packed in coolers for delivery to clients between 2 pm and 5 pm.
- Manage and assist with various functions LBV is involved in such as charity and tasting events, dinner parties, and catering.
- Ensure cost control measures are in place to minimize waste by not over purchasing, watching portion sizes, and minimizing spoilage (FIFO).
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Great communicator, who can accurately and easily communicate to the team, a clients’ special meal requirements and make sure meals are made exactly as they should be standards and cooking methods to staff.
- Extremely confident and comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail- oriented kitchen environment.
- Incorporates creativity into food preparation.
- Must be able to adjust to changing menus every week.
- Strong ability to work under pressure with little supervision and ability to stay calm and focused in all situations.
- Basic computer skills, and other technologies to include printers and smartphones.
- Fun, high-energy and brings a positive attitude to the kitchen
- Must have capabilities in ingredient substitutions, butchering, excellent knife skills, food safety/handling, maintaining a commercial kitchen, excellent cooking skills and ability to produce gourmet eclectic food.
- Someone who is organized and works well in a team environment.
- Flexibility in your schedule
- Someone who knows how to think fast on their feet and is always 12 steps ahead.
