Special Education Teacher Grades 6–12

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will create and implement individualized educational programs that empower students with diverse learning needs to achieve academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to goals, assessments, and behavior support plans
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, families, and community partners to ensure student success
- Implement instructional modifications, accommodations, and positive behavior interventions
- Differentiate instruction based on student developmental levels, learning styles, and educational needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reporting
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and school special education requirements
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education and inclusive practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (Grades 6–12 or PreK–12)
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
- Knowledge of progress monitoring, behavior supports, and special education assessment procedures
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and school teams
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative educational environment
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements
Preferred Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with students with disabilities in a special education setting
- Expertise in differentiated instruction and lesson planning for diverse learners
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and curriculum adaptation strategies
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
