As an Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead an outbound operation, on a specified shift or across multiple shifts within an Amazon Distribution Center. You will be responsible for leading, developing, and engaging a team of exceptional talent that makes our operation possible; one of your main focuses will be motivating, mentoring, and training your team to become the best leaders they can be. To achieve this, Operations Managers are creative problem solvers who can interpret data and deliver meaningful results that keenly drive productivity and efficiency.
Some of the positions key responsibilities include:

Typical Daily Agenda:

● Lead the load out process for all routes at the beginning of the shift to ensure all routes depart promptly.

● Lead the stand up meeting with drivers.

● Schedule drivers and assign routes each day.

● Seek replacement drivers for when scheduled drivers do not show up for work.

● Monitor drivers during the day and assist when needed to help resolve issues (undeliverable packages, package sorting issues, etc).

● Coach drivers on Mentor and Amazon Metrics and follow through with further training as required.

● Maintain operating supplies and re-order when necessary.

● Maintain driver devices. Manage repairs on broken devices.

● Set up rescues for routes that are running behind during the day.

● Assist and escalate when vehicle issues occur on road (flat tires, accidents, engine issues).

● Manage vehicle maintenance by scheduling the vans for routine and diagnostic maintenance appointments.

● Participate in the van check-in process at the end of each driver's shift. Inspect vans to ensure they are in the same condition as when they left.

● Document processes and procedures on handling operations and create the systems to put in place some of the items listed above to accommodate growth.

● Identify lead driver potential, train and delegate.

● Fantastic Plus (Amazon metric ranks) is a weekly requirement on the scorecard. Operations
Manager will be in charge of making sure this happens every week.

● Work closely with other members of the management team to create a seamless operation.

● Create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for the drivers to keep them engaged and feel appreciated.

● Delivery driving experience Preferred, such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, Lyft, Uber, Pizza

Requirements

● Includes weekdays, weekends & holidays
● We operate 7 days a week, 361 days a year
● Must be able to work Saturdays &/or Sundays

● 10-12 hour shifts

● Clean Motor vehicle record
● Must pass drug screening
● Must be at least 21 years of age
● Valid AZ driver's license
● Fluent in English
● Ability to handle the walking, lifting, bending, stair climbing and stooping required to perform the job
● Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs without assistance
● Must be tech savvy and able to operate a smartphone/GPS device with scanner and team applications
● Must observe all traffic rules and company safety policies at all times
● Must work 10-12 hour shifts
● Includes weekends and holidays

● Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays
● Must be available to work on a call-in basis for additional shifts
