Job Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing hydraulic systems and component installations for large mining trucks and rigid frame truck projects. This role involves supporting current product improvements, field and factory issue resolution, and new product development initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and develop hydraulic component installations and routings for rigid frame trucks.
- Create and review CAD models and ensure compliance with design standards.
- Analyze and evaluate designs for cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hydraulic systems into large equipment assemblies.
- Investigate and resolve design-related issues for field and factory support.
- Prepare technical documentation, hydraulic schematics, and routing layouts.
- Support new product development and current product improvement projects.
Required Skills
- Mechanical design experience (3–5 years).
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and design evaluation.
- Strong understanding of large equipment assembly and hydraulic component integration.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems.
- Experience with hydraulic schematics and 3D hose/tube routing.
- Background in mining or construction machine design.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
