We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support production planning, supply chain operations, material readiness, and product lifecycle transitions at a manufacturing site in Warsaw, Indiana.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SAP, MRP/PP&L, supply chain planning, inventory management, and Windchill/PLM systems. This role will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, suppliers, logistics, and network planning teams to ensure smooth product transitions, supply continuity, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute site-specific detailed cutover plans for product, component, and supply chain transitions.
- Validate lead times, variant mapping, T-lane setups, MRP parameters, and planning data within SAP and related systems.
- Support PP&L (Production Planning & Logistics) activities, including material planning, inventory management, and production readiness.
- Execute inventory build plans, track first delivery dates, and manage first orders through delivery to the primary distribution center.
- Coordinate procurement and availability of new components required for product launches and transitions.
- Manage production phase-outs and lifecycle code retirement activities while ensuring appropriate inventory and system updates.
- Support Supplier S&OP activities, including tactical supplier communication, material availability, delivery commitments, and recovery actions.
- Lead cutover strategy development at the site level and proactively resolve supply, planning, and system-related delays.
- Coordinate safety stock updates, MRP changes, and system changes to support production continuity.
- Act as a key point of connection between site teams, VSL, and EPL for supply and planning updates.
- Identify supply risks, backorders, material shortages, and potential production constraints and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Collaborate across manufacturing sites to balance capacity, inventory, and supply requirements.
- Partner with the Network Capacity Planning team to address capacity constraints and optimize supply across the network.
- Utilize SAP, Windchill/PLM, MRP, and supply chain planning tools to monitor material status and support transition activities.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, Suppliers, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and maintain production schedules.
- Track project milestones, material readiness, supplier actions, and cutover activities and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Analyze supply chain and production data to identify opportunities for improved inventory, capacity, planning, and material flow.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely completion of transition and planning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related technical field.
- Strong experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, or Materials Planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP, MRP, and production/material planning systems.
- Experience with supply chain planning, inventory management, capacity planning, and S&OP.
- Experience working with Windchill, PLM, or other Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Strong understanding of production planning, material requirements planning, lead times, inventory builds, and product lifecycle transitions.
- Experience identifying supply risks, shortages, backorders, and capacity constraints and developing mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting new product introduction, product transitions, cutover activities, or production phase-outs.
- Experience working with supplier management and supplier S&OP processes.
- Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with SAP PP/MRP and Windchill/PLM integration.
- Experience working across multiple manufacturing sites and network capacity teams.
