We are seeking an Extrusion Team Lead to join our Extrusion team. The Extrusion Team Lead is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and high-quality extrusion operations across all shifts. This position is accountable for achieving SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People) performance objectives while supporting operational excellence, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
Safety
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S expectations.
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately.
- Support reduction of OSHA recordables, near misses, and DART incidents.
- Ensure all extrusion personnel are properly trained on safe operating procedures.
Quality
- Ensure all extrusion quality checks and process monitoring requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Verify sheet quality meets customer and internal specifications.
- Support corrective actions and root cause analysis for quality concerns.
- Minimize scrap, defects, and process variation.
Cost
- Manage extrusion efficiency to achieve throughput and utilization targets.
- Reduce waste, downtime, and changeover losses.
- Manage regrind utilization and raw material consumption.
- Monitor consumables inventory and coordinate replenishment.
Delivery
- Coordinate production priorities with Planning and Scheduling.
- Support on-time completion of production schedules and sheet shear requirements.
- Ensure accurate production reporting in IQMS and DPS systems.
- Coordinate outbound regrind shipments and inventory flow.
People
- Lead extrusion employees across all shifts.
- Coordinate staffing and shift coverage.
- Train, coach, and develop employees using the Skills Matrix.
- Support accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement culture.
Daily Responsibilities
- Review staffing and production schedules.
- Monitor extrusion performance and quality.
- Verify completion of QC checks and production reporting.
- Coordinate resin deliveries and silo management.
- Conduct floor walks and communicate priorities between shifts.
Leadership Expectations
- Lead by example and demonstrate professional conduct.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
- Support SQCDP objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate operational concerns proactively.
- Maintain effective communication between shifts and departments.

What We're Looking For
- HMWPE extrusion knowledge and experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, required. Some advanced education preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in a plastic sheet extrusion related environment
- 5-10 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Plastic thermoforming experience a plus
- Knowledge of extrusion processes and sheet production.
- Experience with IQMS, DPS, and Excel reporting.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing safety and quality systems.
