What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer position at L.R.Nelson Consulting Engineers?
- Design and detail residential and commercial structures based on IBC 2018, ACI 318, ASCE 7, NDS 2018 and IRC 2018.
- Review Shop drawings for trusses, concrete mix, steel structures and assist to RFIs for quality assurance of project construction.
- Ensure the design is in accordance with the client's specifications, soil investigation and code compliant.
- Analyzing vertical and horizontal loads and applying load combinations based on ASCE 7 and IBC 2018 for structures like buildings and retaining walls.
- Use commercial software like Enercalc and RISA 3D for complex loading and framing structures and different proprietary software for commercial products like Hilti, Simpson, Forte, etc.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or foreign equivalent with 6 months of relevant experience.
