Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Janitor, preferably in Silver Spring / Kensington, MD area who has reliable transportation to join our team. The ideal candidates will maintain cleanliness and order within our facilities.
This is an evening (5:00 PM) position for 4 days per week for 3 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
- Clean interior glass doors
- Remove fingerprints and smudges
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles; replace liners
- Dust desks, shelves, windowsills, and office furniture
- Wipe down high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, phones)
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other areas
- Perform floor care duties including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
- Light maintenance reporting (burnt-out bulbs, leaks, damages)
Skills:
- Experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing (not required)
- Ability to perform basic facilities maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices
- Proficiency in maintaining a clean and orderly environment
- Previous experience as a porter is advantageous
